Asgard – Beyond offers a wide range of mountain courses in Iceland. We train future guides taking their first steps toward certification and prepare them for exams. For recreational adventurers, we provide hands-on instruction in rock climbing, ice climbing, alpine climbing, avalanche safety, and ski touring. Our goal is to build knowledge, confidence, and safety in the mountains. With nearly 30 years of guiding experience, our certified IFMGA Mountain Guides are passionate about sharing their expertise and helping others to progress in mountaineering.

Avalanche courses

Asgard – Beyond offers recreational avalanche courses in Iceland, designed for backcountry skiers and riders who want to travel safely in winter terrain. Our instructors are IFMGA-certified mountain guides and trained by the Canadian Avalanche Association (CAA), holding Avalanche Operations Level 2 certification. Courses combine practical field training and theory, focusing on snowpack assessment, terrain management, and decision-making. Learn to recognize hazards, build awareness, and gain the skills needed for safe and confident backcountry travel.
